Infrastructure Operations

Infrastructure Operations manages the university data centers and provides around-the-clock support for IT computing activities. We support the infrastructure for the campus desktop computers and maintain the infrastructure for the operating systems and university servers. We also provide disaster recovery and continuation of vital technology and systems following a disaster.

Responsible for managing and Maintaining Wireless and Wired networks.  Maintains and supports the VPN and other network services.

Purchases and provides technical support for all personal computer hardware, software, and peripherals. Provides training, technical support, and maintenance for the campus-wide phone mail system. Maintains emergency 911 database.

Provides technical service on issues regarding the telecommunications systems on campus as well as remote sites.

Provides support of network servers, software, connectivity, and technical PC support to faculty, staff, and students. Administrator of campus e-mail system, network data backup, Web conferencing system, Web cameras, and kiosk stations.

Responsible for maintaining the backbone of Olivet's network; ensuring that 200+ switches have the highest possible up-time; managing and maintaining the network core; maintaining the firewall and web filtering software; diagnosing problems with data communications lines; and implementing new technologies.

Assists in network computer programming and support. Helps monitor, maintain and upgrade the Olivet Nazarene University campus network. Writes and revises programs for the ONU network and for other applications using a number of development programs and databases.
